Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply when you book vehicle transport with us.
Last updated: [[DATE YOU PUBLISH THIS]]
1. About these terms
These terms apply to every vehicle transport service provided by [[LEGAL NAME, e.g. "Secure Vehicle Transport Ltd (company no. 00000000)" or your full name if a sole trader]], trading as Secure Vehicle Transport ("we", "us"), [[POSTAL ADDRESS]]. By accepting a quote you agree to them. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
2. Quotes
Quotes are based on the information you give us about the vehicle, its condition, the addresses and the dates. A quote is valid for [[14]] days. If the information turns out to be inaccurate, for example the vehicle does not run or access is restricted, we may revise the price before the job goes ahead.
3. Booking and payment
A booking is confirmed when we confirm it in writing (including by email or text). [[Payment terms, e.g. "A deposit of X% is due on booking. The balance is due on delivery by bank transfer, before the keys are handed over."]]
For European journeys, ferry, tunnel and toll costs are included in the quote unless we say otherwise. Customs duties, import VAT and registration fees are not included.
4. Your responsibilities
You confirm that you own the vehicle or have the owner's permission to have it moved. Before collection you agree to:
- remove personal belongings, loose items and valuables (we are not responsible for items left in the vehicle);
- leave only a small amount of fuel or charge;
- tell us about any leaks, mechanical faults, low ground clearance, modifications, alarms or immobilisers;
- provide keys and any documents needed for the journey;
- make sure someone is present at collection and delivery.
For journeys to or from Europe, you are responsible for customs declarations, import duties, VAT, registration and any permits required in the destination country.
5. Collection and delivery
Collection and delivery times are estimates. We will keep you informed of any change, but we are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, ferry or tunnel disruption, customs checks, breakdown or other events outside our reasonable control.
We will record the condition of the vehicle at collection and again at delivery. Please check the vehicle at delivery and note any damage before signing. If we are kept waiting for more than [[30]] minutes at collection or delivery, or if a vehicle cannot be collected or delivered because of something within your control, we may charge [[waiting / failed-collection charge]].
6. Non-running vehicles
We can transport some non-running vehicles, but only where they can be loaded safely. You must tell us when booking whether the vehicle runs, rolls, steers and brakes. We may refuse to load a vehicle if doing so would risk damage or injury.
7. Cancellations
[[Your cancellation policy, e.g. "You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before collection. After that, the deposit is non-refundable."]]
If you are a consumer and booked by phone, email or online, you have 14 days from booking to cancel. If you ask us to carry out the transport within those 14 days and then cancel, you will pay for any part of the service already provided.
8. Insurance and liability
Vehicles are covered by our goods-in-transit insurance up to £[[AMOUNT]] per vehicle while in our care. If your vehicle is worth more, you must tell us before booking.
If your vehicle is damaged while in our care, please note it on the delivery record and tell us in writing within [[48 hours]] of delivery. We are not liable for pre-existing damage recorded at collection, mechanical or electrical faults that are not caused by us, personal items left in the vehicle, or damage caused by information you did not give us.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
9. Complaints
If something goes wrong, please contact us straight away at info@secureautologistics.co.uk or on 07966 512529 and we will do our best to put it right.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
