How is the price worked out?
Every quote is based on the distance, the type and size of vehicle, whether it runs, and how flexible your dates are. European journeys also include ferry or tunnel crossings and tolls. You get a clear price before anything is booked.
How quickly will I get a quote?
Usually the same day. We reply to quote requests between 9am and 5pm, by phone or email.
Is my vehicle insured while you're moving it?
Yes. Every vehicle is covered by goods-in-transit insurance up to £100,000 from the moment it is loaded until it is unloaded. If your vehicle is worth more, higher cover can be arranged for an extra fee, so please tell us when you ask for a quote.
Will someone else drive or handle my vehicle?
No. Secure Vehicle Transport is an owner-driver service. The same person collects, transports and delivers your vehicle, and it is never passed to a subcontractor.
How much notice do you need?
It depends on the journey and the time of year. If you need something soon, call us and we will tell you straight away whether it is possible.
Can you move a car that doesn't run?
Often, yes. We can load non-running vehicles that still roll and steer. Vehicles that do not roll or steer need to be discussed first, so please mention this on the quote form.
What do I need to do before collection?
Remove personal belongings and any valuables, make sure there is only a small amount of fuel or charge, and let us know about any leaks, faults or alarms. Someone needs to be present at collection and delivery to hand over and receive the keys.
Do you record the vehicle's condition?
Yes. We photograph every vehicle at collection and again at delivery, so its condition is always on record.
How do I pay?
A 15% deposit secures your booking. The balance is due on delivery by bank transfer.
What if I need to cancel?
Give us at least 48 hours' notice before collection and you won't pay a cancellation fee. If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, the deposit is kept.
Do you transport to and from Europe?
Yes, in both directions. For European journeys you are responsible for any customs paperwork, import duties, VAT and registration in the destination country. We will tell you what documents need to travel with the vehicle.
